I need to be honest for a moment.
I'm overwhelmed.
Not in a bad way, necessarily. But overwhelmed all the same.
The emails never stop. Hundreds a day. Media requests. Interview offers. People wanting to collaborate. People thanking me for reviving the site. People sharing their own Rattlin' Bog memories from decades ago. It's beautiful and it's wonderful and it's absolutely exhausting.
I'm just a lad from Ennis who liked a folk song enough to make a website about it. I didn't expect any of this. I didn't expect my hobby from twenty years ago to become relevant again. I didn't expect to perform for thousands of people. I didn't expect to be interviewed by the BBC.
I'm a web developer who works in Dublin three days a week. I go home to my cottage, I spend time with Rattlin' the cat, I go to sessions at Cruise's. That's my life. That's who I am.
And now I'm BogLord2002, the guy everyone wants to talk to about a viral folk song.
It's disorienting.
The only thing keeping me grounded is Rattlin' the cat. She doesn't care that I was on the Late Late Show. She doesn't care that the website got ten million visits this month. She just cares that I feed her on time and let her sit on my lap while I work.
I'm taking a few days. Not abandoning the site or anything — that wouldn't be fair to everyone who's come back. But I need some space to remember who I am outside of all of this.
