Rattlin' has been acting strange lately.
She's old, like. Getting on in years now, bit slower than she used to be, sleeps more. But this week she's been EXTRA peculiar. Staring at the computer screen when I'm trying to write posts, sitting right on the keyboard like she's got something to tell me, bumping my hands away from the mouse.
This morning I was trying to reply to some emails and she just... planted herself on the keys. Wouldn't move. Just stared at me with that look cats get when they KNOW something you don't.
I got up to get coffee and when I came back she'd knocked my notebook off the desk again. The one with the mysterious verses. Like she was insisting I pay attention to it.
Cats are sound, but they're strange, lads. They see things we don't. Or maybe they just like causing trouble. With Rattlin', it's honestly hard to tell.
She's still getting plenty of dinner, still purring when she feels like it, still knocking things off shelves to watch them fall. So I reckon she's grand. But there's something about her lately. Like she's waiting for something.
Or maybe I'm just reading too much into a cat being a cat.
Either way, she's my longest companion through all of this. Through the website, through the years away, through the comeback. She's here. Still here.
