I'm back. Rested. Ready to do this.
And I need to say thank you.
The site has had ten million visits this month. TEN MILLION. That's a number I can't really comprehend. It's like trying to understand the size of the universe — it's too big to hold in your head.
But those ten million visits represent real people. People who cared enough about a song to find my little website. People who shared it with their friends. People who created their own content inspired by it. People who came back again and again.
Thank you to everyone who was here from the beginning. The old community who stuck around even when the site went quiet. You kept the song alive in your hearts and your memories. You made this revival possible.
Thank you to everyone who's arrived recently. The new fans who are discovering the song for the first time. You're bringing fresh energy and excitement. You're reminding me why this matters.
And thank you to everyone who's sent messages and emails. Some of my favorite recent ones:
"Your website helped me through a really difficult time. I'd listen to the song and feel less alone." — Sarah, Essex
"My kids learned the song from your site and now we sing it together. They call it 'Dad's song' because I won't stop playing it." — Michael, Toronto
"This song is in my blood. My grandmother taught it to me. Seeing it come back to life on your website feels like magic." — Niamh, Cork
These messages. These are why I do this.
Not for the media attention or the viral numbers or any of that. But because songs matter. Community matters. Connection matters.
I'm going to keep this site going. I'm going to keep writing about the song, sharing content, being a space where people can celebrate what the Rattlin' Bog means to them.
This is far from over.
Thank you all.
